Family Support Advisers play an integral part in Wokingham Borough Schools. FSAs are school based, working directly with parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for children by providing access to information and support for families.

FSAs help parents and carers by offering friendly, non-judgemental support for a range of issues and concerns such as:

  • ‘I have lots of questions about being a parent’
  • ‘I’m really worried about my child’s self esteem’
  • ‘I’m just not coping since my partner left’
  • ‘I’m worried about the next parents’ evening’
  • ‘I’m struggling with bedtimes and routines’
  • ‘I am having problems with debt’
  • ‘I need help with my anger’
  • ‘I just need someone I can talk to’
  • ‘I am worried about my child’s behaviour’

As parents and carers there are times when you need a little extra support and guidance, someone to talk to and point you in the right direction.

We welcome Gill Albone to the staff at NMR as our Family Support Advisor (FSA) she has been getting to know our staff and children since the 1st December.  Her role is to provide parent/family support and a link between them and the school. She can tailor make a confidential programme to suit your families’ individual needs. Gill will be in school Tuesday and Thursday during term time. If you would like to speak to her, please contact her either via the school office, or email:
